Salary increase for policy-covered staff and academic employees
Dear Colleagues,
I write today to share that we are implementing a general 3.2% increase for all eligible policy-covered academic appointees.
The 2025–26 academic salary program calls for a general increase of 3.2 percent to policy-covered academic salary scales. The campus is extending this increase to include off-scale components and above-scale salaries. Exact increase percentages may vary due to rounding and modest smoothing between steps. Increases will be reflected in the paycheck following the effective date.
Senate faculty and related titles: Increases for senate faculty and related titles will be effective October 1. Unless otherwise stipulated in appointment or retention agreements, appointees active in the following title series as of October 1 are eligible for the increase: Professor and Teaching Professor; including Acting titles; Agronomist; Astronomer; and Adjunct Professor.
Faculty administrators: Department chair and college provost stipends will increase 3.2% effective July 1. Other faculty administrators may be considered for a merit increase in administrative salary or stipend of up to 3.2% based on meritorious performance.
Policy-covered non faculty academics: Salaries of policy-covered academics – including academic coordinators, specialists in cooperative extension, supervisory librarians and researchers, and UNEX continuing educators – will increase approximately 3.2% effective July 1 for salaried appointees and July 6 for hourly-paid appointees, unless otherwise stipulated in employment agreements or program terms.
Negotiated compensation agreements for recalled retirees, by-agreement appointees, visitors, etc. are subject to the discretion of the hiring authority and will not be automatically increased.
Salary increases for represented academic personnel are set by the terms of the collective bargaining agreements.
