RE: Conforming Revisions to CAPM 101.000, Senate Waivers of Open Recruitment
Dear Colleagues,
The Campus Academic Personnel Manual chapter 101.000, Senate Waivers of Open Recruitment, has been updated to comply with guidance from the Office of the Systemwide Provost and Executive Vice President that statements of contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion may no longer be solicited from candidates.
Effective immediately, standalone candidate statements of contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion will no longer be required in a Target of Excellence (TOE) waiver request, nor strongly recommended in a spousal hire waiver request.
The criteria for appointment in the Professor and Teaching Professor series remain unchanged. Contributions in all areas of faculty achievement that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging should be given due recognition in the appointment process, consistent with systemwide policy (APM 210-1.d).
Questions may be directed to the Academic Personnel Office at apo@ucsc.edu.
Sincerely,
Lori Kletzer
