Re: Systemwide Review of Proposed Policy Revisions to Academic Personnel Manual (APM) 360, Librarian Series

Dear Colleagues:

The University invites comments on proposed revisions to systemwide academic personnel policy APM 360, Librarian Series. Please facilitate this formal review process by bringing this information to the attention of individuals in your unit who may be affected by these proposed policy changes so that they are advised about the opportunity to comment.

The proposed policy revisions are primarily updates to the definition of the Librarian Series (APM 360-4), in order to correct language that was included in the policy’s prior revision in 2016 and to reinforce the expected activities and duties of appointees in the Librarian series.

A detailed description of the reasoning and the proposed changes, including clean and redline drafts of APM 360, are posted on the Systemwide Academic Personnel website.
If you have any questions or if you wish to comment, please contact the Academic Personnel Office at apo@ucsc.edu, no later than Monday, June 2, 2025.

Sincerely,

Grace McClintock
Assistant Vice Provost
